Roth Conviction Increases Export Control Awareness on Campus

The Knoxville News Sentinel reports that "University of Tennessee faculty members are taking more care to be sure they're in compliance with research laws and regulations following this month's conviction of UT professor emeritus J. Reece Roth."

The article notes that the University of Tennessee's Office of Research has received several inquiries from UT faculty members to ensure their "work complied with export control regulations" and to obtain "clarification" regarding export control issues.

The University of Tennessee's export control website, which contains useful background information on export controls, the University's export control policies and training programs, can be found at the following link: http://research.utk.edu/exportcontrol/.
