President Extends U.S. Sanctions on Syria
Today's Federal Register contains the notice issued recently by the President continuing the national emergency authorizing the ban on U.S. exports of certain items, including military equipment, to Syria, and freezing the accounts of Syrians supporting terrorist organizations. The executive order extends for one year the sanctions first issued on May 11, 2004 by Executive Order 13338 and broadened on April 25, 2006 by Executive Order 13399.
