U.S.-India Joint Statement Provides for Issuance of License Exception

The U.S.-India Joint Statement issued today after the meeting between Prime Minister Singh and President in New Delhi states that the Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security "will create a license exception for items that would otherwise require an export license to end-users in India engaged solely in civilian activities."
