Representative Bill Thomas (R-CA), Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, today announced that the Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing on the implementation of the U.S.-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The hearing will examine the U.S.-Bahrain FTA and the benefits that the agreement will bring to U.S. businesses, farmers, workers, consumers and the U.S. economy, as well as to the U.S. strategic relationship in the region.

The hearing will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2005, in the room 1100 of the Longworth House Office Building.Oral testimony at this hearing will be from both invited and public witnesses. Invited witnesses will include Shaun Donnelly, Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Europe and the Mediterranean. Any individual or organization not scheduled for an oral appearance may submit a written statement for consideration by the Committee and for inclusion in the printed record of the hearing.
