Bloomberg Publishes Article Discussing U.S. Efforts to Block Sale of Basell to Iran's NPC

This morning Bloomberg published an article on the sale of Basell to Iran's National Petrochemical Company (NPC). The story indicates that the "U.S. is urging American companies to lobby two of Europe's leading petrochemical firms not to sell plastics maker Basell NV to Iran, a sale that would force U.S. firms to sever ties with the company, government and industry officials said." The article also notes that "former and current officials could not recall a previous instance in which Iran purchased a multinational corporation like Basell, forcing U.S. companies to sever their relations with the company."
