House Committee on International Relations to Hold Iran Hearings
On February 16, 2005, the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on International Relations will hold two hearings on U.S. policy towards Iran. The first hearing, conducted by the full committee, will be held at 10:30 a.m. in Room 2172 of the Rayburn House Office Building and will include the following witnesses: The Honorable Mark Palmer, Committee on the Present Danger and Henry D. Sokolski, Executive Director of the Nonproliferation Policy Education Center.
The second hearing will be a joint hearing conducted by the Subcommittee on the Middle East and Central Asia and the Subcommittee on International Terrorism and Nonproliferation and will be held at 1 p.m. in Room 2172 of Rayburn. The witnesses at the afternoon hearing include: Yonah Alexander, Ph.D., Director of International Center for Terrorism Studies at the Potomac Insitute for Policy Studies; Matthew Levitt, Director of Terrorism Studies Program at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy; and William J. Daugherty, Ph.D. and Major Steven Kirtley (USMC, Ret.), former Iranian Hostages.
