ITC Annnounces Final Injury Determinations in Unfair Trade Cases Involving Furniture and Carbozole Violet Pigment

The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) today issued final injury determinations in two closely watched unfair trade cases. In today's first vote, the ITC commisioners voted 6-0 that imports of wooden bedroom furniture from China caused material injury to the U.S. furniture industry that that the U.S. Department of Commerce has determined are sold in the U.S. at less than fair value.

In the second vote, the ITC commissioner's voted 6-0 that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of imports of carbazole violet pigment 23 from India that the U.S. Department of Commerce has determined are subsidized and imports from China and India that Commerce has determined are sold in the United States at less than fair value. All six Commissioners made negative determinations with regard to critical circumstances in the investigation of carbazole violet pigment 23 from China.

The U.S. Department of Commerce will soon issue antidumping orders on wooden bedroom furniture and carbozole violet pigment 23 from China and antidumping and countervailing duty orders on carbozole violet pigment 23 from India.
