Turkish Prime Minister Praises Exporters' Performance
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday attended a meeting of the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM) at Ankara’s Hilton Hotel. The Prime Mininister stated that the new revalued Turkish lira, minus the six zeroes of the current currency, will go into circulation on January 1, 2005. The currency will be known as the New Turkish Lira or Yeni Turk Lirasi in Turkish.
Underscoring the importance of exports for Turkey's economic growth and development, Erdogan added that the performance of Turkish exporters during the most recent economic crisis had done much to help the economy recover, saving the country from being plunged into greater economic chaos.
Excellent, love it!
