Quiet Month in Washington
It is summer in Washingon and the next month should be a very quiet one on the trade front. Congress is now on recess and will not reconvene until September 7th.
The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) does not have any votes or hearings scheduled this week. The next vote, an adequacy determination involving sunset reviews on Hot-Rolled Flat-Rolled Carbon-Quality Steel Products from Brazil, Japan, and Russia, Inv. Nos. 701-TA-384 and 731-TA-806-808 (Review) and Natural Bristle Paint Brushes from China, Inv. No. 731-TA-244 (Review), will not be held until August 6, 2004. The next ITC hearing, involving the final antidumping investigation on Light-Walled Rectangular Pipe and Tube from Mexico and Turkey, Inv. Nos. 731-TA-1054 and 1055 (Final), will not be held until August 31, 2004.
