OFAC Issues Interim Zimbabwe Sanctions Regulations
Today the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) published in the Federal Register interim regulations implementing the sanctions on Zimbabwe. These regulations were issued pursuant to Executive Order 13288 that was issued by the President on March 6, 2003.
The Zimbabwe Sanctions Regulations blocks the property of and prohibits transactions with certain members of the Government of Zimbambwe and other persons contained in OFAC's list of Specially Designated Nationals.
Written comments on the interim regulations must be submitted to OFAC by September 27, 2004.
